GAUGE ROOT VALVE - 1

A Gauge Root Valve – 1 (GRV1) is a specialized isolation valve used to connect pressure measuring instruments—such as gauges, transmitters, or switches—directly to the process pipeline. Unlike a standard gauge valve, the Gauge Root Valve typically performs multiple functions, including isolation, venting, and sometimes calibration, all in a single compact valve body. The “1” in GRV1 indicates a single-isolation root valve configuration. This valve is designed to be installed at the root (base) of the instrumentation system, where it serves as the primary isolating valve between the process and the measuring device. It is commonly used in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, and other process industries. Typical connection sizes are 1/2″ NPT male x female, but variations with socket weld or flanged ends are also available depending on system design.
