BONDED WASHER - METRIC (RS GASKET) (REF. 8800)

A Bonded Washer – Metric (RS Gasket) (Ref. 8800) is a sealing component used primarily to provide a pressure-tight seal around fasteners or fittings, especially in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This washer combines a metal outer ring (typically steel or stainless steel) with a bonded elastomer inner ring (commonly Nitrile, Viton, or EPDM), which provides the sealing function. The bonded design ensures that the gasket stays in place during installation and under pressure, creating a reliable seal between the fastener head or flange and the mating surface. Metric bonded washers, often referred to as RS gaskets (Reinforced Sealing), are widely used in conjunction with metric-threaded bolts, plugs, and adaptors. These washers are typically designed according to DIN or ISO standards and are available in sizes such as M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, and larger.

  • Dual-material construction: Metal ring for strength and shape retention; elastomer insert for effective sealing.
  • Metric sizing: Fits standard metric threads and fittings.
  • High-pressure sealing: Suitable for hydraulic and pneumatic systems up to several hundred bar.
  • Reusable design (in some applications): Can be removed and reinstalled depending on the media and pressure.
  • Temperature and chemical resistance: Varies with elastomer material (e.g., NBR, FKM).
  • Prevents fluid leaks at threaded connections or flanged joints.
  • Easy to install with no special tools required.
  • Compatible with a wide range of fluids and gases based on elastomer selection.
  • Improves joint reliability by absorbing vibration and thermal expansion.
  • Reduces maintenance and downtime by ensuring long-lasting, reliable sealing.
